OUR SUPERVISOR LEE TAMRAZ

We are saddened to inform everyone that our beloved Supervisor, Lee Tamraz, has passed away.  He is survived by his two daughters Catherine and Tammy Tamraz. As well as being our Supervisor, he was a Supervisor/Engineer with Cook County Highway Department and a Member of the American Legion Post 134 in Morton Grove, his home town.

Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home located at 6150 N. Cicero Ave., Chicago. Family and friends will meet Friday morning at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church located at 2727 W. Winona St., Chicago, IL 60625 for a funeral service at 10:30 a.m.

We at the Township will honor his memory and love him for all of the wonderful things he has done for the residents of the Township. Thank you all for your condolences, notes and letters.  We know that the folks at Township Officals of Illinois in Springfield and Township Officials of Cook County will truly miss his sage guidance.

We would like to take a moment to thank all of the wonderfully generous folks who have helped support our food pantry which serves approximately 3,500 individuals per month.  Our community garden is in full bloom and folks are beginning to see the fruits of their labor.  Our thanks to St. Peter's United Church for the wonderful Brat Fry which benefits our food pantry.

Since 1850, Niles Township Government has been dedicated to improving life for its residents. Niles Township is located in the northeast corner of Cook County. With a population of over 102,000, the Township includes the villages of Skokie, Lincolnwood and Golf, and sections of Morton Grove, Niles and Glenview.  For some historical background, please click on the following link:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nVd3KeEcyTw

Niles Township Government has been meeting the challenges to assist our residents during difficult economic times. The Board of Trustees, elected officials, and our staff have gone the extra mile to help residents with a variety of issues they must deal with: unemployment, rising real estate taxes and assessments, health issues, passport services, legal matters, and child care, just to mention a few.

Our Coast2Coast Rx Card, a FREE prescription drug card that can benefit your entire family, continues to save residents a great deal. The card includes additional benefits which are lab and imaging tests at substantially discounted prices as are some of your pets' medications; audio, dental and vision benefits are included as well.
