OUR SUPERVISOR LEE TAMRAZ
We are saddened to inform everyone that our beloved Supervisor, Lee Tamraz, has passed away. He is survived by his two daughters Catherine and Tammy Tamraz. As well as being our Supervisor, he was a Supervisor/Engineer with Cook County Highway Department and a Member of the American Legion Post 134 in Morton Grove, his home town.
Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home located at 6150 N. Cicero Ave., Chicago. Family and friends will meet Friday morning at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church located at 2727 W. Winona St., Chicago, IL 60625 for a funeral service at 10:30 a.m.
We at the Township will honor his memory and love him for all of the wonderful things he has done for the residents of the Township. Thank you all for your condolences, notes and letters. We know that the folks at Township Officals of Illinois in Springfield and Township Officials of Cook County will truly miss his sage guidance.
We would like to take a moment to thank all of the wonderfully generous folks who have helped support our food pantry which serves approximately 3,500 individuals per month. Our community garden is in full bloom and folks are beginning to see the fruits of their labor. Our thanks to St. Peter's United Church for the wonderful Brat Fry which benefits our food pantry.
Our shredding event on May 17, 2014 was a tremendous success. We will have another shredding day on October 18, 2014 from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m..

We are happy to announce that our new all-purpose roomÂ has been completed. Any person or group interested in using the room should contact our Administrative Offices. Please don't forget that Kris Sadur from Congresswoman Schakowsky's office is here at the Township the second Tuesday of every month from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. She is a font of information regarding Social Security, Veterans' Affairs and Medicare. Also, a Program Specialist from CEDA, is here every Monday from 9:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
