Since 1850, Niles Township Government has been dedicated to improving life for its residents. Niles Township is located in the northeast corner of Cook County. With a population of over 102,000 the Township includes the villages of Skokie, Lincolnwood and Golf, and sections of Morton Grove, Niles and Glenview.
Niles Township Government has been meeting the challenges to assist our residents during difficult economic times. The Board of Trustees, elected officials, and our staff have gone the extra mile to help residents with a variety of issues they must deal with: unemployment, rising real estate taxes and assessments, health issues, legal matters, child care, and marketplace competitiveness through technology. Of course, we have been and continue to support our food pantry which now serves close to 3,500 Niles Township Residents per month.
We are happy to announce that Niles Township Government has joined counties across the USA to offer the Coast2Coast Rx Card, a FREE prescription drug card that can benefit your entire family. The card includes additional benefits which are lab and imaging tests at substantially discounted prices as are some of your pets' medications. While the card is generally for people without health insurance, in some cases it may offer better pricing than certain health insurance plans. So it’s important for residents to compare pricing whether or not you have insurance. More and more formularies are being added to the list so have your pharmacist check and do comparisons for you. Plus, some medications might not be covered in health plans that are covered by the Coast2Coast Rx Card. Stop in at Niles Township or your local pharmacy to pick up a card any time. As of March 31, 2012, over 16,000 individuals have used the Coast2Coast Rx card equating to a savings of over $1,115,000 for Niles Township residents. Since we have pioneered this program with the folks at Coast2Coast, over 32 other Townships have joined and are saving their residents a great deal in prescription, lab, dental, hearing and vision costs as well.
We are happy to announce that our new multi-purpose room has been completed. Any person or group interested in using the room should contact our Administrative Offices. Please don't forget that Kris Sadur is here at the Township the second Tuesday of every month from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. She is a font of information regarding Social Security, Veterans' Affairs and Medicare. Also, Program Specialist, Michael Blais from CEDA, is here every Monday from 9:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
